History
Founded in 1900 in Amsterdam, Ajax rose to become one of Europe's elite clubs under the guidance of Rinus Michels and the genius of Johan Cruyff in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their Total Football philosophy — fluid, intelligent, positionally interchangeable — won three consecutive European Cups from 1971 to 1973 and changed football forever.
