Bodø/Glimt are Norwegian football's greatest modern success story and one of Europe's most exciting clubs. History
Founded in 1916 in Bodø — a city of around 50,000 people located above the Arctic Circle in northern Norway — Glimt spent most of their history in the lower reaches of Norwegian football. Their transformation into a dominant force began in the late 2010s under coach Kjetil Knutsen, whose attacking, high-intensity style of play became known across Europe.
Their Europa Conference League campaign in 2021-22 became the stuff of legend when they defeated AS Roma 6-1 at Aspmyra Stadion — humiliating José Mourinho's side in one of European football's most stunning upsets. The result sent shockwaves through the continent and put Bodø/Glimt on the global football map permanently.
