Brisbane Broncos

The Brisbane Broncos were founded in 1988 as Queensland's first team in the NSWRL competition, giving the state its own top-flight rugby league club for the first time. Under coach Wayne Bennett — who would become the most successful coach in rugby league history — the Broncos quickly established themselves as the dominant force in the competition, winning back-to-back premierships in 1992 and 1993 in just their fifth and sixth seasons.

The Broncos went on to win four more premierships in 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2006, cementing their status as the NRL's most decorated club. They produced a generation of legends including Allan Langer, Wally Lewis, Darren Lockyer, and Johnathan Thurston — players who defined Queensland rugby league across multiple eras.
