Canterbury Bulldogs

Founded in 1935 as the Canterbury-Bankstown Rugby League Football Club, the Bulldogs quickly established themselves as one of the most competitive clubs in the Sydney competition. They won their first premiership in 1938 and went on to build a reputation for tough, physical, and uncompromising rugby league that became the hallmark of the club across multiple eras. The 1980s were a golden decade — the Bulldogs won premierships in 1980, 1984, and 1988, with the 1988 title won in a famous grand final against Balmain.

The Bulldogs won their most recent premiership in 2004 under coach Steve Folkes, with a team featuring Willie Mason, Andrew Ryan, and Sonny Bill Williams. The club has one of the largest and most passionate supporter bases in the NRL, drawing fans from across Sydney's western and southwestern suburbs. Despite periods of challenge in recent years, the Bulldogs remain one of the NRL's most recognisable and best-supported clubs, with a proud history and a fanbase that never wavers.
