Celtic FC

Founded in 1888 by Brother Walfrid, Celtic was created with a specific mission: to raise money for the poor Irish Catholic immigrant community in Glasgow's East End. That founding purpose shaped a club identity unlike almost any other in world football — deeply community-driven, politically aware, and fiercely proud of its Irish roots.

In 1967, Jock Stein's Lisbon Lions became the first British club to win the European Cup, doing so with a squad of players born within 30 miles of Celtic Park. Nine league titles in a row in the modern era, a fanbase stretching across Ireland, North America, and Australia — Celtic are a genuine global club with a soul that hasn't changed in over 130 years.
