History
Founded in 1994 ahead of MLS’s inaugural 1996 season, Columbus Crew were one of the league’s original teams and have played a major role in shaping modern football in the United States. They helped establish the league’s identity during its early years and became known for building a strong football culture in Ohio.
The Crew made history by opening the first soccer-specific stadium in MLS in 1999 and have gone on to become one of the league’s most successful clubs. With multiple MLS Cup wins and a strong modern era, Columbus have built a reputation as one of the standard-setters in North American football.
