FC Köln

Founded in 1948 through the merger of several Cologne clubs, FC Köln quickly rose to prominence in German football. They were one of the founding members of the Bundesliga in 1963 and won the German championship three times, with their most successful era coming in the 1970s and 1980s under legendary striker Dieter Müller and later with the great Pierre Littbarski.

Köln have experienced the full spectrum of German football — Bundesliga glory, European competition, and periods in the second division. Back in the Bundesliga since winning the 2. Bundesliga title in 2025, the club is backed by one of Germany's most passionate and loyal fanbases. The RheinEnergieStadion, with its famous atmosphere, is one of the great football venues in Europe.

Red and white — the Billy Goats colours worn with Rhineland pride. FC Köln's home kit is one of the most recognisable in German football, and the red and white combination has been associated with the club throughout their history. Their mascot Hennes the Billy Goat is one of German football's most beloved symbols.
