Ferro Carril Oeste

Founded in 1904 in the Caballito neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Ferro Carril Oeste — named after the Western Railway that ran through the area — have been a fixture of Argentine football for over 120 years. Their golden era came in the early 1980s under coach Carlos Griguol, when they won two Argentine Primera División titles in 1982 and 1984, playing an organised, disciplined brand of football that was ahead of its time.

Ferro have experienced the full spectrum of Argentine football since their championship years, including periods in the Primera Nacional (second division). They remain one of Buenos Aires' most characterful clubs, with a loyal fanbase in Caballito that has supported El Verde through every chapter of their story. Their distinctive all-green kit is one of the most recognisable in Argentine football.
