From the heart of Kerry. Fossa GAA are a proud Gaelic football club from the village of Fossa, nestled on the shores of Lough Leáne just outside Killarney. Founded in 1888 — the same year the GAA held its first All-Ireland Championship — Fossa carry over 130 years of Kerry GAA tradition with enormous community pride. And right now, they are home to the greatest Gaelic footballer on the planet.

History

Founded in 1888, Fossa GAA are one of Kerry's oldest clubs, established in the very early years of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The club is based in the village of Fossa, a small community on the western shore of Lough Leáne in the Killarney area — one of Ireland's most beautiful landscapes and the heartland of Kerry GAA.

Competing in the Kerry Senior Football Championship — one of the most competitive county championships in Ireland — Fossa have represented their community with pride across generations. Like all Kerry clubs, they do so in the shadow of one of Gaelic football's greatest county teams, and the standard that Kerry GAA demands is felt at every level of the game in the county, from the most senior club right down to Fossa's own pitches by the lake.

Colours & Identity

Green and white — Fossa's colours worn with Kerry pride. The green and white of Fossa GAA connects the club to the landscape of Kerry itself — the green of the mountains and fields, the white of the clouds over Killarney's famous lakes. A kit worn with the quiet pride of a community that has been playing Gaelic football for over 130 years.

Notable Players

Featured Player
David Clifford
The greatest Gaelic footballer of his generation — and many would argue of all time. David Clifford is a Fossa man through and through, and his rise from the club's underage ranks to becoming Kerry's talisman and the most feared forward in the game is one of the great stories in modern GAA. A four-time All-Star, multiple All-Ireland winner with Kerry, and the benchmark against which every forward in Gaelic football is now measured, Clifford plays with a combination of power, skill, and footballing intelligence that is simply without equal. To have produced him is Fossa GAA's greatest achievement — and the whole of Kerry knows it.
Also from Fossa
Paudie Clifford
David's older brother and a Kerry senior footballer in his own right. Paudie Clifford is a versatile, intelligent player who has made significant contributions to Kerry's All-Ireland campaigns and is a key figure in the Fossa club. The Clifford brothers are the most celebrated footballing siblings in Kerry — and arguably in the history of the GAA — and both proudly wear the green and white of Fossa at club level.
