Goole Vikings RLFC are East Yorkshire’s professional rugby league club. Formed in 2018, the Vikings progressed from the community game to League One in 2025 and joined the expanded Betfred Championship in 2026, playing in black and red at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds.
Goole has rugby roots stretching back to the nineteenth century, but the present club began in 2018 as Goole Vikings Amateur Rugby League Football Club. The Vikings entered the Yorkshire Men’s League and developed at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds before seeking a place in the professional structure.
The Rugby Football League approved Goole’s application to join League One for the 2025 season. It was a major step for a club that had been playing community rugby only months earlier and made the Vikings East Yorkshire’s newest professional rugby league team.
Goole’s first competitive match as a professional club brought an immediate landmark. In January 2025, the Vikings travelled south and defeated London Broncos 17–10 in the Challenge Cup, recording their first professional competitive win.
The club completed its first League One campaign in 2025 before moving into the enlarged Betfred Championship for 2026. That rapid journey from the Yorkshire Men’s League to the second tier is central to the modern Goole Vikings story.
The Vikings play at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds on Carter Street in Goole. The historic multi-sport venue has long associations with the town and is also home to Goole AFC.
For Goole Vikings, the ground connects the professional team to the community club formed there in 2018. Its town-centre setting gives the Vikings a distinctly local home as they compete against established rugby league names.
Black and red are the defining colours of Goole Vikings. The combination appears across the club crest and home-kit identity, often supported by white detailing and strong chevron-inspired patterns associated with rugby league shirts.
The club also uses the historic Seaporters nickname, reflecting Goole’s identity as an inland port town. This FanFile covers the team rather than one particular jersey, so check the crest, sponsor, manufacturer label and product code on your shirt to identify its exact season and edition.
