History
Founded in 1886 in the industrial town of Motherwell, the club has always reflected the working-class spirit of Lanarkshire. Their finest hour came in 1932 when they won the Scottish First Division title, finishing ahead of Rangers in a memorable campaign.
Motherwell have been a consistent presence in the Scottish top flight for most of their history, regularly competing in European football and producing talented players.
