History
The Warriors entered the ARL competition in 1995, bringing NRL-level rugby league to New Zealand for the first time. Based at what is now Go Media Stadium in Mount Smart, Auckland, they quickly built a fierce and loyal fanbase across New Zealand.
Their greatest moment came in 2002 when they reached the NRL Grand Final, losing to the Sydney Roosters. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Warriors made the extraordinary sacrifice of relocating to Australia for an entire season to keep the competition going — a gesture that earned them widespread admiration. The club has a deep connection to Māori and Pacific Island communities and their kits often feature stunning indigenous artwork.
