History
Northern Cyprus — officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus — is recognised only by Turkey and is therefore excluded from FIFA and UEFA membership. This means their national football team cannot compete in World Cup or European Championship qualifying, but that hasn't stopped them from building a footballing identity and competing on the international stage through CONIFA.
The Kıbrıs Türk Futbol Federasyonu (KTFF) has been organising football in Northern Cyprus since 1955 and became a founding member of CONIFA in 2013. Northern Cyprus have participated in multiple CONIFA World Football Cups, competing against other non-FIFA nations and territories from around the world. Their inclusion in the FanFile reflects the beauty of football's ability to transcend political boundaries and give every community a game to call their own.
