History
Founded in 1902, Real Madrid became the dominant force in world football almost immediately, winning the first five European Cups consecutively between 1956 and 1960 — a feat that may never be matched. The club has been home to the game's greatest players across every era: Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazário, Cristiano Ronaldo and many more.
Under Carlo Ancelotti and before him Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid won four Champions Leagues in five years between 2016 and 2022. The rebuilt Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, reopened in 2023 with a retractable roof and state-of-the-art facilities, is now the most spectacular club stadium on earth.
Kit History & Colours
Real Madrid's all-white home kit is the most iconic in football. The plain white shirt, worn since the club's founding, is instantly recognisable worldwide — earning them the nickname Los Blancos. Simple, elegant and timeless, no shirt in football carries more weight or history.
Their away kits have ranged from deep purple to black to gold, but it is always the white that defines Real Madrid. The golden crown crest above the letters MCM — the royal cypher — reflects their status as the club of kings.
