Shamrock Rovers
Ireland's most successful football club. Shamrock Rovers have won the League of Ireland a record 22 times and in 2024-25 became the first Irish club to reach the knockout stage of a UEFA competition. The Hoops are the benchmark of Irish football — ambitious, consistent, and deeply rooted in the community of Tallaght.
History
Founded in 1899 in Ringsend, Dublin, Shamrock Rovers are the most decorated club in Irish football history. They dominated the League of Ireland for much of the 20th century and have produced numerous Irish internationals over the decades. The club moved to Tallaght Stadium in 2009, giving them a modern home that has become one of the best grounds in Irish football.
In recent years, Rovers have re-established themselves as the dominant force in Irish football under manager Stephen Bradley, winning four consecutive League of Ireland titles between 2020 and 2023 and a fifth in 2025. Their 2022-23 European campaign — where they reached the Europa Conference League group stage after defeating Hibernians and Shkupi — was a landmark achievement for Irish club football and announced the Hoops to a European audience.
Kit History & Colours
Green and white hoops — one of the most iconic kits in Irish football. Shamrock Rovers' home shirt is instantly recognisable and has been worn by the finest players in Irish football history. The hooped design is synonymous with the club's identity and is worn with enormous pride by the Tallaght faithful.
Their kits carry the legacy of 22 league titles and a tradition of excellence that spans over 125 years of Irish football. The green and white of the Hoops is a colour combination that resonates with football fans across Ireland and the Irish diaspora worldwide.
