History
South Korea co-hosted the 2002 World Cup with Japan and produced one of the tournament's most remarkable stories, defeating Spain and Germany on their way to the semi-finals — the best ever result by an Asian nation at a World Cup. The atmosphere generated by the Red Devils supporter movement was unlike anything seen at a major tournament before or since.
South Korea have qualified for every World Cup since 1986 and reached the Round of 16 at Qatar 2022, defeating Portugal in the group stage.
