The masters of tiki-taka and the most successful European nation of the modern era. Spain's golden generation dominated world football between 2008 and 2012, winning two Euros and a World Cup in succession. A new generation claimed Euro 2024, proving La Roja's brilliance endures.

History

Spain's greatest era began at Euro 2008, when a squad built around Xavi, Iniesta, and David Villa introduced tiki-taka to the world. Two years later they became World Champions for the first time, with Andrés Iniesta's extra-time winner against the Netherlands in Johannesburg one of the most celebrated goals in World Cup history.

A third consecutive major tournament victory at Euro 2012 completed an unprecedented treble. After a transitional period, Spain returned to the summit by winning Euro 2024 in Germany, with a new generation led by Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, and Rodri. Spain are the record holders for European Championship titles with 4, and their style of play has influenced football globally.

Spain then won the 2026 World Cup, beating Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, on 19 July 2026, with Ferran Torres scoring the winner in the 106th minute.

Kit History & Colours

Red and yellow — the colours of the Spanish flag worn with fierce national pride. Spain's iconic red home shirt is one of the most recognisable in world football, and their Adidas kits have produced some of the most celebrated designs of the modern era.

La Roja's shirts are among the most popular international jerseys worldwide, and the red of Spain is synonymous with the most dominant period of international football in the 21st century.
